Hefei National Economic and Technological Development Area (HETDA) was founded in 1993 with a programming area of 79km2, and it is one of the most important modern manufacturing bases in AnhuiProvince. With the fast development, the comprehensive investment environment of HETDA ranks the top of national economic and technological development areas in central and western part of China. In 2007, the GDP of HETDA reached RMB 25.99 billion, increased by 39.67% comparing with the data in 2006, and its industrial output valued reached RMB 60.66 billion, increased by 39.03%. There are five pillar industries formed in HETDA, respectively, automobiles, equipment manufacture, household appliances, daily chemicals and food processing; meanwhile, it also pays much attention to the new rising industries such as microelectronics, new materials, housing industrialization and biomedicine. The infrastructure construction of HETDA has covered all the area with the standard of Seven Connections and One Leveling; the management and service systems in HETDA are efficient as well with the assurance of ISO9001 Quality Management System Certificate and ISO14001 Environment Management System Certificate. In HETDA, the modern tertiary industry including logistics, exhibition, catering, entertainment and tourism is quickly developing; the UniversityTown in HETDA with 16 universities and colleges has owned 120,000 students on campus. An active new zone has already appeared.
